“la Bodicese”, Botrici, Massarosa
An historic country mansion that has been enchantingly transformed into a picturesque, stylish and welcoming Bed and Breakfast. Nestling among olive groves, cypresses and pines, one can enjoy from Massarosa’s hill the spectacular panoramic view over the sea of Versilia and the lake of Massaciuccoli.
A country house whose facade reflects the shades of the surrounding landscape. The contemporary has been tastefully combined with the traditional, giving an interior ambiance which is well balanced and pleasing to the senses. Original, period materials have been used and interact with new and modern ones.
Each of the 4 large bright bedrooms is unique, with fittings selected with great care and passion. Furniture from the last century blends with contemporary items and a few individual designer pieces. Lovingly placed details give “la Bodicese” a particular singularity and homey charm.
Both the kitchen and living room open out to the large and lush garden. There is a strong association between the interior and the exterior. Exuberant Mediterranean plants line a spacious sun terrace and a stone wall, which form the frame for a generously laid out swimming pool.
The property is only a few kilometres from the beaches of the Versilia coast. The resorts of Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio are also nearby, offering the opportunity of enjoying the lively “Italianità”.
Worthwhile excursions to the art cities of Lucca, Florence or Pisa enrich the offering for culture vultures. These places are also within easy and comfortable reach.
In addition, the house offers the creatively minded an inspiring and professionally equipped ceramics workshop.
The hilly landscape is highly suitable for biking and hiking.
The owner and host Gabriella Kaiser puts her heart and soul into providing a relaxed family atmosphere, and looks forward to making your stay at “la Bodicese” both restful and unforgettable.
