Leaving Switzerland on 1 May 2012, I struck a new path, both physically and spiritually, and set out to explore new shores and encounter the unknown.
I found a wonderful new home at “Casa del Sole” and started converting the house into a beautiful boutique hotel on 15 July 2012.
The building work involved replacing the entire roof, removing or shifting walls, replacing all sanitary and electrical pipes and lines, chiselling out floors and clearing away 900 cubic metres of soil to make space for the sun terrace and the swimming pool.
Aside from a few meteorological escapades, which delayed individual building stages, the conversion went ahead without a hitch and was completed to my entire satisfaction.
While the building period was challenging, varied and exciting, it was also an exhausting time, full of uncertainty, doubt and homesickness.
Over the last year, the unwavering support of my 3 wonderful children, my family and my friends was a constant source of encouragement to me.
Despite all bureaucratic obstacles, some of which seemed insurmountable at the time, and thanks to the professional management and experience of my architect Marco Innocenti and his “squadra”, “la bodicese” celebrated its grand opening on 6 June 2013.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have helped me in my venture through competent work, expert advice, spontaneous help, neighbourliness and friendship.
I am now opening the doors of “la bodicese” in joyful anticipation and eager to serve my guests with my whole spirit and soul.
Welcome to “la bodicese”!
